As dental treatment becomes more pharmacologically based, new products are introduced to our armamentarium that allow us to treat patients more conservatively. One of the hurdles with these new products is acceptance and training. In this lecture Dr. Cardarelli will present a thorough background of Silver Diamine Fluoride and its significant history. Clinical examples will be given to demonstrate its use as a desensitizer, caries management tool and in the S.M.A.R.T. technique as a restorative option.

Dr. Cardarelli is a 2015 graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he received his D.M.D. degree. He holds clinical and pre-clinical positions at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in the Comprehensive Care and Operative Dentistry departments. He practices privately in Massachusetts where he focuses on minimally invasive dentistry. Dr. Cardarelli has performed research through Tufts University where he contributed to several publications in peer- reviewed journals on tooth regenerative techniques. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
